Held in our light-filled, tranquil studio in Skanstull, this hands-on course guides beginners and continuing ceramicists through the full pottery-making process—from raw stoneware clay on the wheel to glazed, kiln-fired finished pieces.

What’s Included:

 24 Hours of Direct Instruction: 8 sessions (3 hours each) led by experienced ceramic instructors.

 All Materials Included: High-fire stoneware clay, slips, underglazes, and studio glazes.

 Kiln Firing Included: Bisque and high-fire glaze firings for all completed pieces.

 Small Class Size: Dedicated individual guidance with access to professional pottery wheels, trimming tools, and glazes.

 Complementary Studio Amenities: Tea, coffee, and snacks

Who Is This Class For?

 Complete beginners eager to learn wheel-throwing and hand-building in Stockholm.

 Intermediate throwers wanting structured studio time, refined trimming skills, and advanced surface decoration.

 Anyone seeking a creative weekday evening activity, mindfulness practice, or artistic community in Södermalm.

Course Flow

Week 1 – Introduction to clay and the studio. Create a simple hand-built piece such as an oil burner or candle holder using pinch and slab techniques.

Week 2 – Refine your work and explore surface decoration using engobes.

Week 3 – Learn the basics of the pottery wheel: centering, pulling walls, and shaping.

Week 4 – Trim and turn the piece you threw the previous week.

Week 5 – Develop personal projects, finish your pieces, and prepare for bisque firing.

Week 6 – Continue personal projects and refine your work.

Week 7 – Prepare all your work for bisque firing, basics on underglaze.

Week 8 – Glaze your final pieces and discover the magic of color and texture.

At least one makeup class will be offered and can be taken during our membership drop-in time.
